OJP vs. OCP

2025: Bandon Dunes

This year, the storied rivalry between OJP and OCP heads west—to the windswept coastlines of Bandon Dunes, where dunes, dreams, and decades-old grudges collide.

From the fog of Ireland to the cliffs of Cabot, from airdrops over Sand Valley to battles deep in the Ozarks, The Classic has delivered drama for thirteen unforgettable years. Each course left its mark, but Oregon demands something more.

OCP may be on a streak, but OJP is restless. And the dunes don’t play favorites.

Buckle up. This is The Classic.

About Bandon Dunes:

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, perched on the rugged southern coast of Oregon, was the vision of Mike Keiser, a former greeting card entrepreneur and passionate golf purist. In 1999, Keiser opened the original Bandon Dunes course—designed by David McLay Kidd—with the bold idea that links-style golf could thrive in the U.S. Since then, the resort has become a pilgrimage site for golfers around the world, known for its raw beauty, wind-swept terrain, and reverence for the game’s Scottish roots.

Today, Bandon Dunes boasts six courses that each tell their own story: Pacific Dunes by Tom Doak, known for its dramatic routing and ocean views; Bandon Trails by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, which winds through dunes and forest; Old Macdonald, a tribute to Charles Blair Macdonald’s design principles; the Sheep Ranch, a wild and exposed cliffside layout; and The Preserve, a beloved 13-hole par-3 course. With each course walking-only and nature-anchored, Bandon offers not just golf—but a spiritual reset for anyone who plays.
